Good Samaritan called STOP's 24/7 recovery hotline to report that a briefcase containing two STOP-tagged laptops found buried in storage items in garage. STOP identified these devices as belonging to an online remote-learning school, notified administrator. Recovery process is underway.

An employee found a company-owned laptop that was apparently lost or left behind by a former employee, possibly during acquisition/transition. STOP is working with the employee to determine ownership status.

Madison County NY police called STOP's 24/7 recovery hotline to report that a college student they have taken into custody had a university-owned laptop in his possession. STOP notified the university, recovery of the laptop is underway.

A STOP-tagged device that is registered to a company in Arizona US was purchased from a computer reseller in Madagascar. The purchaser noticed the STOP Security Plate and contacted STOP to verify ownership. STOP contacted the registered owner and verified this device was decommissioned and is free and clear for re-registration in the new owner's name.

An employee reported a company-owned laptop was lost on April 13, 2018. Administrator notified STOP on April 26 that this device has been found. Case closed.

UPS Store manager in Charlotte, NC called STOP's 24/7 Recovery Hotline to report that a laptop was returned to his Store due to incorrect shipping info. He noticed the STOP ID on the laptop. STOP identified the registered owner and notified them. Recovery process is underway.

Uber driver called STOP's recovery hotline to report that someone left a laptop bag and laptop in his car in Chicago, IL. Registered owner has been notified and recovery is underway.
